Gingerbread Cookies Workshop
Gingerbread Cookies Workshop
A workshop perfect for the weeks leading up to the holidays, filled with the scent of honey and winter spices, where we will prepare, cut out and decorate gingerbread cookies together.
We will work with two types of dough: one made with rye flour, brown sugar and honey, and the other with white flour and honey. We will discover the textures and flavours of each dough and transform them into cookie shapes decorated according to our own imagination.
This is a relaxed and joyful workshop where you can let your creativity run free. I will guide you through preparing the doughs and the icing, and I will show you different decorating techniques. From there, the shapes, patterns and combinations are entirely up to you.
Who is the workshop for?
The workshop is open to anyone who would like to enjoy a few hours of hands-on work and holiday atmosphere. No previous experience is needed – we will go through every step together, from the ingredients to the final decorations.
It is also for those who would like to take a break from the rush of everyday life and spend time in a small group, with room for learning, conversation and play.
Who will lead the workshop?
The workshop will be led by me, Codruța – founder of Codru de Pâine. I will guide you through each step with explanations, demonstrations and hands-on practice, so that you can prepare and decorate gingerbread at home as well.
What will we do?
We will work together, step by step, covering:
- preparing a dough made with rye flour, brown sugar and honey;
- preparing a dough made with white flour and honey;
- rolling, cutting and shaping the dough;
- baking the gingerbread;
- preparing the icing and adjusting its consistency;
- decorating techniques, from outlines and lines to filling shapes and adding details.
After practising the basic techniques, you will have time to experiment and create your own designs. There will be room for questions, attempts and spontaneous ideas – every cookie can be different.
Duration
The workshop lasts 3 hours, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
What will you take home?
You will take home the gingerbread cookies baked and decorated during the workshop, as well as gingerbread dough that you can bake and decorate at home.
You will also leave with practical experience in preparing both types of dough, making the icing and using it for decoration.
And perhaps with a new tradition to repeat every year before the holidays.
